Spatial Data Science & Causal Inference

Jiho Kwak is a Master’s student in Geography at Seoul National University, where he is advised by Prof. Insang Song in the SONG Lab.

He studies the spatiotemporal dynamics of socioeconomic processes, with a focus on spatial demography and regional policy. He is currently interested in applying causal inference and machine learning methods to spatiotemporal data in ways that properly account for spatial autocorrelation and heterogeneity. He is proficient in handling spatial data and big data through R, Python, and ArcGIS. He is also an ardent fan of (rock) music, an amateur guitarist, and a keen sportsman. Before entering the master’s program, he earned a B.A. in Geography and a B.Sc. in Statistics at Seoul National University.
